Get to Know Dr. Avi Shainhouse
Dr. Shainhouse is our on-staff periodontist who provides gum disease treatment and dental implant surgery here at the Boston Smile Center. As a board-certified periodontist in Brookline with special training, he is highly skilled at providing many types of oral and dental surgical procedures, including periodontal regenerative techniques.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Shainhouse was born in Canada and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Western Ontario. He then moved to the Boston area and worked in the public health sector, providing care to underserved populations. He went on to continue his education in periodontics and implant dentistry, receiving a specialist degree from New York University.
Dr. Shainhouse has been in practice for over 10 years and is board-certified in both Canada and the United States. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontics, a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, as well as an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology.
